
ABOUT THE PROJECT
This project will provide substantial benefits to downtown businesses, their customers and residents. The project will make traffic traveling to and through downtown more efficient for vehicles and pedestrians. Enhanced pedestrian crossings and bike lanes are just one part of making it easier to get to downtown Zionsville. The project will also benefit public safety by improving emergency response times.
The project also features visual improvements that will reflect the beauty and charm of the historic Village of Zionsville. The entire project team is committed to making this project enhance the Main Street experience.
Timing
The Main Street Momentum project will move forward in two phases.
Phase 1: 2026

Improvements along First Street

Upgrades at the intersection of First and Oak streets

Conversion of First Street to one-way north from Oak Street to Cedar Street

Conversion of Second Street to one-way south from Cedar Street to Oak Street
Advancing this work in 2026 helps minimize future construction impacts and aligns with ongoing work at Lincoln Park to improve access and connectivity in the area.
Phase 2: Anticipated 2027

Construction of the peanut roundabout
